BANGKOK, 29 November 2014 – The Meteorological Department has forecast that Tropical Storm Sinlaku in the South China Sea will generate rainfall in the northeastern, eastern, central and southern parts of Thailand until Monday.

According to the weather report, as of this morning, the eye of Tropical Storm Sinlaku was located 500 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, packing winds of about 80 kilometers per hour. The system is moving northwesterly at the speed of 25 kilometers an hour and is expected to make landfall in Vietnam from November 30 to December 1.

Under such circumstance, Thailand will likely experience increased showers in the Lower Northeast, East, Lower Central Plains and Upper South during the period.

Meanwhile, the weak high pressure is lingering in the North, contributing to thick fog in the morning. Motorists are urged to be cautious on the road due to poor visibility. However, during December 1-4, another high-pressure trough will spread down from China, causing the temperature to drop 4-6 degrees Celsius and bringing gusty winds.
