TRAT, 19 July 2015 – Tourism-related authorities and hotel entrepreneurs in Trat eastern province, one of the twelve Cant’s Miss Cities of Thailand, attended on Sunday a policy briefing by Tourism and Sports Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul.

The minister told the meeting that Trat has been selected as a Cant’ Miss City because of its active and beautiful beaches, outstanding eco-tourism and interesting community-based activities.

“As far as I am concerned, Trat has its own strategic plan for tourism development but some areas of the plan still need an improvement to better respond to tourists from various nationalities and for encouraging re-visit among them,” noted Mrs.Kobkarn.

The Minister mentioned that the aspect that was worrying her most was safety measures for tourists, especially safety in maritime traveling. Meanwhile, toilet cleanliness and clear direction signposts to tourist attractions must also be improved. She advised the province to develop connectivity system with other ASEAN countries to fully respond to cross-border tourism.

After the meeting, Mrs.Kobkarn went to Trat Bus Station to observe its conditions and service. She suggested the station staff how to develop the service to welcome a greater number of tourists in the future.
