BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand brings conservation to the world stage at the Sapporo Snow Festival!

At the 50th International Snow Sculpture Contest in Odori Park, the Tourism Authority of Thailand presents Love of the Hornbills — a snow sculpture that reflects Thailand’s commitment to wildlife protection, forest conservation, and nature‑based tourism.

Created under the concept From the Beak of a Bird to the Heart of Nature, this sculpture depicts a hornbill feeding its chick, symbolising care, ecological balance, and the rich beauty of Thailand’s natural ecosystems.

The sculpture also helps raise international awareness of Khao Yai National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and essential habitat for hornbills and rare wildlife.

Thailand’s national snow sculpting team — Kusol Boonkobsongserm, Amnuaysak Srisuk, and Krisana Wongthet — are crafting this masterpiece on site from 1–7 February 2026, with the award announcement on 7 February 2026.

This participation underscores Thailand’s dedication to conservation‑led tourism and creatively presenting its natural heritage to the world. (TAT)
