BANGKOK, Thailand – Labour Minister Treenuch Thienthong has expressed condolences following the death of a Thai worker in Israel, confirming that the incident resulted from a medical condition and was not related to the ongoing conflict in the region.

Authorities identified the deceased as a Thai national from Khon Kaen province who had previously worked in Israel’s agricultural sector. Records show he first traveled to Israel for employment in 2016, later returned for another period of work, and returned to Thailand in 2022. Officials said there were no records indicating that he had formally reported traveling abroad for employment again after that time.

Preliminary information from authorities in Israel indicates the cause of death was heart failure linked to an existing medical condition. Officials said the case was not connected to the current conflict in the Middle East.

Treenuch has instructed the Khon Kaen Provincial Labour Office and related agencies to visit the worker’s family to provide support and assist with the documentation required to repatriate the body to Thailand. Labor authorities also confirmed that no Thai workers in Israel have been injured or killed as a result of the ongoing conflict. (NNT)
