BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered the establishment of a government center to coordinate Thailand’s response to the conflict in the Middle East and address possible impacts on the country. Under the order, Anutin will serve as advisor to the center. The deputy prime minister and minister of transport has been appointed director, while the deputy prime minister and minister of finance will serve as deputy director of the center.
The body is tasked with monitoring developments related to the Middle East conflict and assessing potential impacts on Thailand. It will also propose policy measures and coordinate work among ministries, government agencies, and state enterprises involved in addressing the situation.
Authorities said the center will also oversee public communication to ensure the public receives accurate information. The unit has the authority to call on relevant agencies and officials to attend meetings, provide explanations, and submit information or documents required to support its operations. (NNT)
