BANGKOK, Thailand – The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) has extended its waiver of expressway tolls until midnight on September 29, 2026, as heavy rain and flooding continue to disrupt travel in several areas. The toll-free period, originally scheduled from 1 p.m. on September 26 through midnight on September 27, has been extended to ease travel difficulties and provide greater convenience for motorists affected by the flooding.
The waiver covers all eight expressway routes operated under EXAT:
- Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway
- Si Rat Expressway
- Chalong Rat Expressway
- Burapha Withi Expressway
- Udon Ratthaya Expressway
- Bang Na–At Narong Expressway (S1)
- Kanchanaphisek Expressway
- Prachim Ratthaya Expressway
EXAT and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Public Company Limited (BEM) are deploying staff to assist motorists and manage traffic along the routes while closely monitoring the flood situation.
Motorists are advised to check for affected expressway entrances and exits before travelling, follow instructions from traffic officials and monitor EXAT traffic updates as conditions can change quickly.
