PM Anutin says Thailand will study MOU 43-44 with Cambodia carefully and will not be disadvantaged.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand’s Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the government will wait for a study by the House and Senate committees before deciding on whether to cancel MOU 43 and MOU 44 with Cambodia. MOU 43 covers surveying and establishing the boundary line between the two countries, while MOU 44 concerns overlapping continental shelf claims.

Anutin emphasized that after the committees finalize their reports, the Cabinet will decide on any actions. He stressed that the government will not take any steps that would disadvantage Thailand and that all decisions will consider the benefits and risks carefully. He reaffirmed that the process will follow parliamentary procedures, including potential public referendums, in line with government policy. (TNA)
