BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Tourism and Sports, in partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), invites visitors to experience “Koh Kerd: The Living Legacy of Thai Craftsmanship,” a cultural tourism route linking Bangkok and Ayutthaya province. The initiative, organized in cooperation with the SUPPORT Foundation, commemorates the August 12, birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and honors Her Majesty’s contributions to preserving Thai arts, crafts, and traditional knowledge.
Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul and TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool welcomed media and passengers on the inaugural bus service from the Grand Palace area to the Koh Kerd SUPPORT Center in Bang Pa-in district. Visitors can explore the All About Khon learning center and the Arts of the Kingdom Museum, which features intricate works showcasing the expertise of Thai artisans.
The project aims to raise awareness of Thailand’s living cultural heritage, encourage travel between Bangkok and Ayutthaya, and enhance the country’s reputation as a destination for art, culture, and traditional craftsmanship. TAT offers free shuttle service every Wednesday through Sunday until December 26, 2026. Buses depart Na Phra Lan Road in Bangkok at 11 a.m. and leave Koh Kerd at 3:30 p.m., with the return trip ending at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal. Each trip is limited to 50 passengers.
