
CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Thailand Travel Mart Plus 2025 (TTM+ 2025) was launched in Chiang Mai to drive international tourism and business partnerships worth over 4.2 billion baht.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) kicked off the event at the Royal Park Rajapruek in Chiang Mai from June 4th–6th. Over 450 Thai sellers presented tourism products and services to 406 global buyers from 53 countries. More than 13,000 business appointments were expected, generating over 4.296 billion baht in projected tourism revenue.
Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong presided over the event, joined by top ministry officials and Chiang Mai provincial leaders. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool emphasized expanding markets, especially with 97 Chinese operators attending. New potential markets included Argentina, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and Eastern Europe.
Buyers were mainly from East Asia (33.25%), ASEAN and South Asia (32.51%), Europe (26.35%), and the Americas, Middle East, and Africa (7.88%). Thai sellers included hotels, tour operators, entertainment venues, wellness businesses, and transport providers, with 30 organizations from 14 up-and-coming tourist provinces. Media outlets and national tourism organizations from GMS countries also joined.
Highlights included TTM+ Talk themed “The Soul of Thailand: 3F Essentials,” featuring keynote speaker Dr. Surapong Suebwonglee, Chairman of the National Soft Power Development Committee, and sessions on gastronomy, wellness, and Thai textiles. TAT also showcased AI-powered platforms like TATAI and TAGTHAi to improve travel planning and emergency services.
Product showcases and workshops centered on Northern Thai wellness, Thai herbs, local crafts, music, and dancing. Pre- and post-tours featured routes across Chiang Mai, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Khon Kaen, Rayong, Chonburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchaburi, and Surat Thani. All tours highlighted Thai Soft Power and sustainability, with carbon footprints measured and offset via Carbon Knox.
TAT expected at least 13,000 business meetings and revenue exceeding 4.296 billion baht. The event was co-hosted by government agencies, tourism associations, and major private sponsors, and aligned with the “5 Must Do in Thailand” strategy and Carbon Neutral goals. (NNT)
