Tourism Authority of Thailand and partners launched Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 in Fukuoka, showcasing Thai cuisine, culture, and travel deals to promote tourism from Japan.

FUKUOKA, Japan – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Fukuoka, the Department of International Trade Promotion, Thai Airways, AirAsia, and tourism partners, is hosting Amazing Thailand Fest 2026 @ Fukuoka under the theme “The Wholesome Taste of Thai” on May 30–31, 2026, at Tenjin Chuo Park, Kihinkan Area, Fukuoka, Japan. The event aims to promote Thailand’s gastronomy tourism and inspire Japanese travelers to experience Thailand firsthand through its cuisine, culture, and tourism. The opening ceremony was attended by Fukuoka Vice Governor Tetsuko Ueda, Consul-General Kosol Satithamajit, and TAT Deputy Governor for Asia and South Pacific Markets Pattaraanong Na Chiangmai.

Pattaraanong said the festival is part of the Amazing Thailand Food Festival (World Tour) campaign, which showcases Thai cuisine alongside travel experiences to international audiences and strengthens Thailand’s competitiveness as a global tourism destination. Under the concept “The Wholesome Taste of Thai,” the festival features 33 booths offering authentic Thai food, products, cultural activities, and tourism information. Visitors can enjoy traditional Thai cuisine, join workshops such as fruit-shaped mung bean confection making and flower garland crafting, and explore Thai products and wellness services.

The event also includes cultural performances, Muay Thai demonstrations, and appearances by Thai artists and entertainers. Leading tourism partners and airlines are offering promotional travel packages and special deals to encourage travel to Thailand. To convert cultural interest into travel bookings, TAT’s Fukuoka office is implementing a “Partnership 360°” strategy with major Japanese travel agencies, including HIS, JTB, and Hankyu Travel. Through the regional sub-campaign “Amazing Thailand through Kyushu,” these agencies are launching tailored vacation packages for high-spending first-time and repeat travelers from Kyushu. TAT expects the two-day festival to attract more than 10,000 visitors and generate over 500,000 impressions across online and offline channels. This will further strengthen Thailand’s image as a destination where culture, cuisine, and travel experiences converge. (NNT)
