SURAT THANI, Thailand – Minister of Tourism and Sports Surasak Phancharoenworakul presided over a security deployment ceremony to strengthen traveler confidence on June 16, at the Strong Tourism Community (STC) site in Fisherman’s Village, Koh Samui, Surat Thani province. The event was attended by executives and representatives from government agencies, the private sector, and security-related agencies.
Minister Surasak said the government values promoting tourism alongside stronger measures to ensure visitor safety. He noted that Koh Samui is one of Thailand’s major destinations, attracting both Thai and international visitors. Integrated cooperation among all sectors is an important mechanism for strengthening confidence, maintaining safety, and promoting Thailand’s international tourism image. The Minister expressed appreciation to officials and all participating agencies for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to safeguarding tourists. He then officially opened the deployment ceremony and wished all agencies success in carrying out their missions in accordance with the set objectives. This deployment reflects an aligned, multi-sector effort to safeguard travelers and support the sustainable growth of the tourism industry in Surat Thani Province and throughout Thailand.
