Minister Maris confirms cooperation with Jordan to help expedite safe passage for Thai citizens amid regional tensions.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has secured cooperation from Jordan to help facilitate the border crossing of Thai nationals wishing to depart from Israel amid regional uncertainty.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sangiampongsa told the media that he has spoken with his Jordanian counterpart regarding assistance for Thai citizens. The discussion is part of the ongoing effort to help Thais in the region affected by the conflict between Israel and Iran.



He said he held talks with His Excellency Ayman Al Safadi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan. The request was for Jordan to help expedite the border crossing process for Thai nationals traveling from Israel who wish to return to Thailand during this uncertain period.

Minister Maris confirmed that the Jordanian Foreign Minister has agreed to provide the requested facilitation. Following the discussion, the minister has instructed the Royal Thai Embassy in Amman to coordinate with Jordanian authorities to implement the process. (NNT)
