BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Police has launched an online criminal record check service, allowing the public to apply for criminal background certificates through the Criminal Records Division website and receive the results by email. Available from today (July 15), the service supports the government’s push to expand digital public services and reduce paperwork.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploytalay Laksameesangchan said applicants can request a criminal record check by providing their full name and Thai national identification number. Identity verification can be completed through the ThaiD application or by entering the laser code on the back of a Thai national ID card, followed by online payment through a range of available methods.

Successful applicants will receive their criminal record reports by email with a digital signature to verify authenticity. Users of the ThaiD application can complete the entire process online and receive their results at any time, from any location. Those who require printed copies bearing an official handwritten signature may still collect them in person at the Criminal Records Division, Forensic Science Centers 1-10, or Provincial Forensic Science Offices nationwide.
