
MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Public Health has participated in the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Policy Dialogue in Manila, where regional officials and experts discussed responses to pandemics, natural disasters, and health risks associated with climate change. Representing Thailand, Dr. Soawapak Hinjoy of the Department of Disease Control and Dr. Jittima Rodsawad of the Department of Health proposed closer coordination among the human health, animal health, environmental, and climate sectors through the One Health approach.
Discussions addressed ways to improve the detection, prevention, and management of emerging public health threats, while examining cross-sector cooperation to enhance readiness and response capacity across the region. Participants exchanged experiences and policy approaches to address evolving health challenges. The dialogue also examined innovative financing mechanisms, digital health technologies, and strategies for developing climate-resilient health systems, enhancing continued cooperation with regional partners to improve health security, sustainability, and preparedness for future challenges.
