The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is showcasing Thailand’s diverse tourism offerings and sustainable tourism direction at the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange (SATTE) 2024 in New Delhi, India, from 22-24 February.

SATTE, which offers a business-to-business platform to travel and tourism industry professionals from across India and around the world, is billed as the largest, must-attend annual travel fair in India. This year, in its 31st edition, the show will gather over 35,000 trade visitors.

Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Tourism and Sports said “TAT’s participation in India’s leading business-to-business travel exhibition is an excellent opportunity for Thai exhibitors to present our unique tourism offerings to existing and potentially new partners, while underlining our direction in driving Thailand towards experience-based and sustainable tourism.”

The Amazing Thailand Stand opened today in a ceremony officiated by H.E. Ms. Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol, Minister of Tourism and Sports together with H.E. Ms. Pattarat Hongtong, Ambassador of Thailand to India, and Mr. Chote Trachu, TAT Chairman of the Board of Directors.

This year marks TAT’s 15th participation in SATTE. Representing Thailand delegation at the three-day Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) include 59Thai exhibitors from hotels, tour operators, attractions, airlines, and golf courses, as well as the Thailand Privilege Card.

Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and the South Pacific, said “We aim to reinforce Thailand’s position as the preferred tourism destination for Indian travellers by promoting our distinct tourism offerings through the showcase of local wisdoms, cultural values, and sustainable tourism practices. For our participation at SATTE 2024, we hope to secure over 5,000 business appointments.”

The Amazing Thailand Stand presents the “sustainability” concept with displays of bamboo wickerwork made of local wisdom and craftsmanship unique to different regions of Thailand. This aligns with TAT’s strategy to promote a more sustainable travel culture under its own Sustainable Tourism Goals (STGs).

In addition to three days of business-to-business discussions, TAT hosted an ‘Executive Luncheon’ for India’s leading tour operators and the Amazing Thailand Media Briefing on 21 February. (TAT)
