
BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is moving towards becoming a regional hub for water-based tourism as it gets ready to host Interferry 2026 – The 50th Annual Interferry Conference, scheduled for October 31 to November 4, 2026, in Bangkok.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), along with key public and private sector partners, announced its readiness to host the international conference on January 16, 2026, at Supatra River House in Bangkok. The announcement was attended by representatives from the ferry and passenger vessel industry, international organizations, and government agencies.
TAT’s Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications Nithee Seeprae stated that Interferry is a leading global platform for sharing knowledge and strategic insights in the ferry and passenger shipping industry. The organization has chosen Bangkok as the host city for its 50th edition. The event is expected to attract over 400 participants from more than 270 companies across 40 countries in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
TAT will support promotional activities, coordinate logistics, and highlight Thai cultural attractions through on-site exhibitions to enhance the participant experience.
The conference will provide a key forum for shaping the future of the global ferry industry, with discussions on marketing strategies, route management, international maritime regulations, safety standards, next-generation vessel technology, clean energy innovation, and sustainable water-based transportation.
Bangkok’s selection as host highlights Thailand’s potential as a regional center for water transport, tourism, and international events, supported by its diverse waterways, infrastructure, maritime culture, and renowned hospitality.
