BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand has reaffirmed its commitment to developing the healthcare sector as a new engine of economic growth with the opening of International Healthcare Week 2026, one of the region’s largest healthcare and medical industry events. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presided over the opening ceremony at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, where more than 1,200 exhibitors, healthcare professionals, investors and policymakers from around the world have gathered to explore new opportunities in trade, investment and innovation. In his keynote address, the prime minister said healthcare today is no longer only about treating illness, but also about strengthening economic resilience and national health security. He said the government is committed to advancing the Healthcare Economy by promoting innovation, raising medical standards and expanding international cooperation to position Thailand as a world-class medical hub.
Organized by Informa Markets Thailand, International Healthcare Week 2026 brings together four international exhibitions under one platform: CPHI South East Asia, World Health Expo Bangkok, Medtec Southeast Asia, and the Thailand Medical & Wellness Expo 2026, which is being held for the first time. The Thailand Medical & Wellness Expo is co-organized with the Ministry of Public Health to showcase Thailand’s strengths in medical, wellness and beauty services. The event features more than 200 conferences, seminars and business matching sessions, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and cross-border collaboration across the healthcare value chain. More than 26,000 participants are expected to attend the three-day event, which runs from July 8 to 10. Organizers say the event will help strengthen Thailand’s position as a leading healthcare and medical hub in Asia while supporting investment, innovation and sustainable economic growth. (NNT)
