The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has announced that universal health care cardholders are no longer required to wait 15 days before changing their primary healthcare units.

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Ratchada Thanadirek, the change is part of a project to implement new healthcare technology at various units throughout the nation. The change lets patients seek free treatments regardless of where in the country they are located.

Ratchada noted that the implementation would be particularly useful for those who commute between cities for work or school.

The NHSO, also known as the gold card scheme, has roughly 47 million subscribers.

Cardholders can now change their health care units four times per year using the NHSO app for iOS and Android, its Line account (@nhso) or its 1330 hotline. (NNT)
