Thailand issues guidelines for foreign film productions during mourning period for Queen Mother

The Thailand Film Office requests foreign film crews to observe a 30-day mourning period for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother by avoiding filming near royal ceremonies, limiting celebratory scenes in public, dressing respectfully in modest colors, and notifying authorities in advance of any schedule changes.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Following the Cabinet’s resolution and announcement by the Office of the Prime Minister regarding the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, entertainment venues and service establishments are requested to reduce or suspend entertainment activities for a period of 30 days.

The Thailand Film Office requests the cooperation of foreign film crews in observing the following filming guidelines during this period:

∙Please avoid filming near areas where royal ceremonies are being held or significant locations related to the ceremonies, including areas surrounding the Grand Palace, Sanam Luang, and other government-designated ceremonial sites.



∙Please consider the appropriateness of shooting scenes with celebratory content such as parties, celebrations, or activities involving loud noises in public areas.

∙Please dress respectfully in modest colors such as black, grey, or white.

∙Please notify the Thailand Film Office in advance If it is necessary to modify your filming schedule or organize special activities during this period. (PRD)
