Thailand issues commemorative coins for 2026 IMF and World Bank meetings

Thailand’s Treasury Department will release commemorative 100-baht coins marking the country’s hosting of the 2026 IMF and World Bank meetings.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Treasury Department is releasing commemorative coins on October 9 to celebrate the country’s hosting of the 2026 International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Group Annual Meetings, scheduled for October 12–18. The 100-baht coins, honoring Their Majesties the King and Queen, are made from a copper-nickel alloy and feature Their Majesties’ portraits on the front, with the official emblem of the 2026 IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings on the reverse. Two versions will be available: a proof-finish collector’s edition priced at 700 baht, limited to 30,000 coins, and a regular-finish edition exchangeable at its 100-baht face value, limited to 200,000 coins.



Sales and exchanges will begin on October 9 through the Treasury Department’s Currency Management Division in Pathum Thani, coin exchange service points on Chakrabongse Road and Rama VI Road in Bangkok, and all 76 Provincial Treasury Offices nationwide. The coins will also be available through the department’s website and TRD e-Commerce mobile application. The commemorative release recognizes Thailand’s role in hosting the international financial meetings while offering collectors and the public an opportunity to obtain a souvenir of the occasion.
