Thailand hosts international delegation at border conflict sites ahead of Cambodia talks, August 4–7

  1. 1. Field Visit for International Representatives in the Border Area

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Thai Army, and other related agencies led a group of 150 people on a site visit to civilian areas affected by the Cambodian attack. The delegation included diplomatic representatives from 11 countries, 38 defense attachés from 13 countries, and members of both foreign and Thai media. They visited several locations, including a gas station, a convenience store, a sub-district health promotion hospital, and a temporary shelter center.



  1. 2. Results of the Field Visit

2.1 The Thai government provided an opportunity for international representatives to observe and assess the impact of clashes initiated by the Cambodian side. This ensures that facts and the truth regarding the impact on Thai civilians caused by Cambodia are disseminated to the international community. These actions constitute violations of international humanitarian law, human rights principles, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

2.2 The foreign representatives were able to meet and interact with directly affected families, and witnessed the care being provided by both government and private sectors for victims and evacuees.

2.3 The foreign representatives thanked the Thai government for the visit, which demonstrated the sincerity and good faith that Thailand has always shown.

  1. 3. Thailand- Cambodia GBC Meeting

Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to hold a special session of the GBC meeting in Malaysia from 4-7 August 2025. The secretariat-level meeting will take place from 4-6 August, followed by the Defense Ministers’ meeting on 7 August. (NNT)
