Thailand briefs Central European envoys on Cambodia border situation, reaffirms commitment to verifiable peace

BANGKOK, Thailand – Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sarun Charoensuwan met with Ambassadors and Embassy representatives from Central European countries (Austria, Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic, and the Holy See) to discuss the Thailand-Cambodia border situation.

The participants exchanged their perspectives on the situation in an honest and constructive manner. The Thai side provided the latest update on the Thailand-Cambodia border situation and the outcome of the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held on December 22, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur.



Thailand reiterated its strong commitment to achieving genuine, sustainable peace grounded in concrete action. The militaries of both sides will convene the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) meeting to discuss implementation, related steps, and verification of the ceasefire in detail.

Thailand welcomes constructive engagement from friends and partners to de-escalate the situation and achieve the cessation of all forms of hostilities. (NNT)
