BANGKOK, Thailand – Thailand is strengthening its creative economy through intellectual property as the Ministry of Commerce officially opened the Thailand Character & Content Expo 2026 (TCEX 2026). The event brings together creators, investors, and licensing partners to expand business opportunities and showcase Thai creative talent on the global stage. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun said Thailand’s creative industries generate 1.44 trillion baht, accounting for 8.01% of GDP, demonstrating the country’s growing strength in creative content and intellectual property.

The government is promoting IP as a key driver of economic growth through innovation, commercialization, and business collaboration. Held under the theme “The Multiverse of Creativity,” TCEX 2026 features more than 250 Thai creators across four sectors, including character design, content, games, and creative lifestyle products. The expo aims to generate at least 500 million baht in economic value while positioning Thailand as a regional hub for creative content and intellectual property in ASEAN. (NNT)
