Thailand bans all drone activity nationwide amid border security threats

The Thai government has imposed a strict no-drone policy across the entire country, warning that violators could face life imprisonment or the death penalty, as tensions rise along the Cambodian border.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The government has issued a public warning following the official announcement dated July 29, 2025, strictly prohibiting the operation or release of drones for any purpose and in all areas across the Kingdom of Thailand.

This urgent measure aims to prevent threats to national security amid the current Thai–Cambodian border situation.

Security officials are authorized to deploy Anti‑Drone Systems and may immediately neutralize or destroy drones from the ground.



Violation of this directive may be considered espionage that compromises national security, punishable by life imprisonment or even the death penalty.
