BANGKOK, Thailand – The Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation under the Thai Red Cross Society has delivered royally bestowed relief bags for distribution to flood-affected residents and Buddhist monks in five southern border provinces. A total of 12,600 relief bags will be provided to communities in Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat following severe flooding in November.

The Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center (SBPAC) coordinated with provincial authorities to request assistance to help ease hardship and support recovery in affected areas.

Relief supplies are being transported through two routes. By road, 5,040 relief bags arrived in Chana district, Songkhla province, on December 12, including 3,045 bags for Songkhla and 1,995 for Satun, with delivery managed by local agencies.

An additional 7,560 relief bags are being shipped by rail and are scheduled to arrive on December 13. These are allocated for Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, and the SBPAC for further distribution.

All relief bags are scheduled for delivery directly to affected residents on Dec. 17, ensuring timely assistance as communities continue their post-flood recovery. (NNT)
