Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha is worried about unvaccinated people as the numbers of COVID-19-infected people who suffer lung inflammation, depend on ventilators and died are increasing, according to the government spokesman.

Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said on Monday that new daily COVID-19 cases were stable in many areas and tended to fall in some areas due to people’s cooperation with disease control measures.

However, the prime minister was concerned about the rising numbers of people with lung inflammation, those who were dependent on ventilators and dead patients as most of them had not been vaccinated or had not received booster shots. When the people were infected, their symptoms were severe and could be fatal, Mr Thanakorn said.

He urged unvaccinated people and those who were inadequately vaccinated to receive full vaccination to reduce the risks of severe illness and deaths.

The Department of Disease Control reported today that there were 14,994 new COVID-19 cases and 124 new fatalities related to the disease over the past 24 hours. (TNA)
