TAK, Thailand – Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) officers, working with highway police, arrested two Thai men for smuggling four undocumented Chinese nationals along Highway 12 in Mueang Tak District.
The operation followed a tip-off from the Narcotics Suppression Bureau about two suspicious pickup trucks traveling through the area. Officers intercepted the vehicles at kilometer markers 114–115 and found four Chinese men in the cabin without passports or identification documents.
Authorities believe the individuals had illegally entered and were residing in Thailand without authorization. The two Thai drivers confessed to being hired by a man known only as “Ton,” receiving 6,000 baht each for the job.
The suspects are now in custody as investigations continue into the human smuggling network. (TNA)
