Thai PM to make official visit to Cambodia for 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations

The official visit signals a renewed commitment to closer cooperation in security, economic development, and cross-border partnerships, said the spokesperson.

BANGKOK, Thailand – Government Spokesperson Jirayu Huangsap announced that Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will make her first official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia from Wednesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 24, at the invitation of Cambodian Prime Minister H.E. Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. The visit marks the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Cambodia.



During the visit, the Prime Minister will attend an official welcoming ceremony at the Cambodian Prime Minister’s Office in Phnom Penh, and participate in a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Hun Manet. Both leaders will co-chair the official unveiling of the 75th anniversary emblem and witness the signing of key bilateral documents.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn will also pay courtesy calls to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Privy Councilor of Cambodia; Samdech Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly; and will be granted a royal audience with His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia.


“This marks Prime Minister Paetongtarn’s first official visit to Cambodia, held in honor of the 75th anniversary of Thai-Cambodian diplomatic relations. It is an important opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in security, cross-border issues, economic development, people-to-people relations, and regional collaboration,” said the spokesperson.
