BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has revealed that she held an audience with Prince Albert II of Monaco during her recent visit to the principality. The two leaders exchanged views on the strategic potential of Formula 1 racing as a platform for international cooperation, technological advancement, and sustainable development.

In a social media post accompanied by photographs of the meeting, Prime Minister Paetongtarn expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to meet the Monegasque monarch and highlighted Monaco’s longstanding leadership in motorsport through the iconic Monaco Grand Prix. She noted that Monaco’s ability to blend cultural heritage with modern innovation provides a valuable model for Thailand’s own ambitions to develop a sustainable motorsports ecosystem.



The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to thank Monaco for its continued support of Thailand’s aspirations to bring a Formula 1 event to the kingdom. She emphasized that such an event could elevate Thailand’s image as a global destination for tourism and world-class events, while also attracting international investment.

Prince Albert II, in turn, fondly recalled his past visits to Thailand, particularly the time spent with the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality he received and his admiration for Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. His Serene Highness also conveyed his intention to visit Thailand again in the near future, further underscoring the long-standing friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
