Thai PM advances investment talks with leading Italian aviation, insurance, automotive firms

According to Srettha, Leonardo S.p.A., an aviation technology leader, expressed its interest in setting up a regional office and a maintenance center in Thailand based on market demand.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has provided insights into his productive discussions with executives from Leonardo S.p.A., Generali, and Ducati Motor. Held at the Six Senses Rome Hotel, the talks focused on deepening investment and technology exchange in aviation, insurance, and the automotive sectors to support Thai SMEs and the national economy.

According to Srettha, Leonardo S.p.A., an aviation technology leader, expressed its interest in setting up a regional office and a maintenance center in Thailand based on market demand. The talks are in line with Thailand’s goals to upgrade aviation infrastructure, including major and secondary airports, to support a range of aircraft sizes.



In his meeting with Generali, an insurance giant with a substantial market presence in Thailand, the prime minister pointed out the growth potential within the Thai insurance market, urging the Italian company to increase its investments to take advantage of this relatively untapped sector.

Meanwhile, Srettha’s engagement with Ducati focused on the expansion of motorcycle manufacturing and exploring new investments in electric bikes. Ducati has substantial investments in Thailand, including a training center, and is looking to extend its involvement in electric bike production and related competitions such as MotoGP and Moto E.
