BANGKOK, Thailand – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring rising tensions in the Middle East that may impact the safety of Thai nationals in the region. Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow stated that the Ministry remains in regular contact with Thai embassies in the region to assess developments and update citizens. The Royal Thai Embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran have issued safety warnings and set up hotlines to support the Thai community since the situation began.
In response to recent incidents, the Ministry has issued an advisory urging Thai nationals in high-risk areas, especially Iran and Israel, to leave immediately. Citizens should also reconsider or postpone non-essential travel to affected locations.
To coordinate the response, the Ministry has established a dedicated Situation Monitoring Center (War Room) that works with relevant agencies and embassies to finalize evacuation and emergency assistance plans. The Department of Consular Affairs has also activated a 24-hour emergency call center at 0-2572-8442 for immediate support.
The Ministry will continue to coordinate with foreign embassies in Thailand and Thai associations abroad to ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens in the region. (NNT)
