Thai court needs documents from parliament in Prayut’s tenure case

The court held a meeting today to consider the petition from the opposition asking it to rule if the prime ministerial tenure of Gen Prayut already ended.

The Constitutional Court considered a petition on the eight-year term of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and demanded the minutes of the 501st meeting of the Constitution Drafting Committee from the House by Sept 13 before its next meeting on Sept 14.

The court held a meeting today to consider the petition from the opposition asking it to rule if the prime ministerial tenure of Gen Prayut already ended.



After the meeting, the court stated it ordered the secretary-general of the House of Representatives to send the minutes of the CDC’s 501st meeting on Sept 11, 2018.

The 501st meeting approved the minutes of the 500th meeting of the CDC on Sept 7, 2018. The court demanded the secretary-general of the House send the minutes of the 501st meeting by Sept 13 as it would resume its deliberation on the tenure issue on Sept 14. (TNA)
