Thai Army confirms continued ceasefire violations by Cambodian forces along the border, highlighting troop readiness to defend Thailand’s sovereignty and respond under international law.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Army spokesperson confirmed that Cambodian forces have continued to violate the ceasefire along the Thai–Cambodian border. Thai troops remain fully prepared to defend sovereignty and exercise the right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter.

Major General Winthai Suwaree, spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, reported that since the evening of September 24 until early September 25, Thai forces observed Cambodian soldiers firing small arms and incidents resembling grenade throws near Thai defensive barbed wire. Drones were also detected crossing the border near Prasat Ta Muen Thom in Phanom Dong Rak district, Surin province, and Phlan Hin Pad in Kantharalak district, Sisaket province. The actions appear aimed at provoking Thai forces and testing their defensive positions.

The incidents provide evidence of continued ceasefire violations and persistent provocations against Thai military personnel. The Army emphasizes that Thai troops are maintaining strict readiness, exercising restraint, and closely monitoring the situation. Should any incursions or hostile actions occur, the Royal Thai Army is prepared to act under the United Nations Charter to protect Thailand’s sovereignty. (TNA)
