BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai Airways has entered the world’s top 20 airlines in the 2026 World Airline Awards, reflecting improvements in its products and services and its continued focus on passenger experience. The national carrier was ranked 20th among the World’s Top 100 Airlines, climbing from 29th place in 2025.
Thai Airways also achieved high rankings across several major categories:
- 9th among the Best Airlines in Asia
- 7th for World’s Best Airport Services
- 10th for World’s Best Airline Cabin Crew
- 9th for Best Airline Staff in Asia
- 15th for World’s Best Economy Class
The World Airline Awards, organized by Skytrax, are based on a global passenger satisfaction survey and have been held since 1999. The awards are widely recognized within the international aviation industry. For the 2026 awards, the survey was conducted from September 2025 to August 2026 and covered more than 300 airlines, with passengers from more than 100 nationalities taking part. The survey assessed different parts of the passenger journey, including ticket booking and check-in, staff service, boarding, lounges, seat comfort, cleanliness, food and beverages, in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi and overall value.
Thai Airways said the rankings reflect the development of its products and services and thanked passengers for their continued trust and support, as well as employees for delivering attentive service and showcasing Thai identity throughout the travel experience. The airline said it will continue developing its products and services with the aim of improving the passenger experience and establishing its service standards among leading airlines worldwide.
