BANGKOK, Thailand – Thai activist Akkarawut Kraisrisombat led supporters to the Embassy of Israel in Bangkok to demand progress on a complaint regarding the alleged harassment of locals by some Israeli nationals. Police officers were deployed to maintain order outside the diplomatic premises during the peaceful rally. Akkarawut stated that his group had previously submitted a letter urging the embassy to investigate reports of threats and disruption against Thai residents and businesses, particularly in Surat Thani province, but had received no clear response.

He noted that despite the initial complaint, victims continued to face threats, including a video clip depicting an armed individual accompanied by intimidating messages threatening a shooting. He called on the embassy to issue an official warning instructing Israeli citizens to respect Thai laws and local culture, maintaining that foreign visitors in Thailand must obey local laws just as Thais do abroad. The activist added that if no clarification is provided within seven days, the group plans to petition Thailand’s Foreign Ministry to follow up on the matter. (TNA)
