Surin agriculture and cooperatives donate money and rice to quake victims in Nepal

SURIN, 12 May 2015 – The agriculture and cooperatives sector in Surin province has donated almost 200,000 baht and over 5.1 tons of quality jasmine rice to quake victims in Nepal.

Mr. Narongpol Pattanasri of the Surin Cooperative Promotion Department led a group of 33 provincial agriculture and cooperatives members to deliver 5.1 tons of Grade A 105 jasmine rice and 45,100 baht to the provincial Damrongtum center, totaling 198,100 baht.

Surin Governor and Director of its Damrongtum center Niran Kalayanamit received the donations on behalf of the quake victims in Nepal.

Vendors, civil servants, the general public, soldiers and police in Surin have jointly donated 664,590 baht and necessities to the quake victims.

The donations are worth almost a combined one million baht. The province has encouraged the public to donate more cash and goods the quake victims through the Surin Damrongtum center.
