State Welfare Cardholders can now use their 750-baht monthly allowance for bus travel nationwide, making public transportation more accessible and affordable.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Transport Company Limited has announced that State Welfare Card holders can now use their monthly travel allowance to buy bus tickets on all routes nationwide. The measure has been approved with the aim of easing transportation costs and improving public transit access for low-income individuals.

Cardholders’ monthly allowance of 750 baht for travel expenses can now be used at any of the company’s ticket counters. Passengers must present their ID for verification, and only the cardholder is eligible to use the benefit. If the ticket price exceeds the monthly limit, the difference must be paid in cash.

The subsidy applies to all service levels and routes and can be combined with other discounts, subject to the company’s terms. While tickets are non-refundable, travel dates may be changed according to existing guidelines.

Between October 2024 and July 2025, over 315,000 passengers used the welfare card for Transport Company fares, with transactions totaling more than 146 million baht. Tickets are available at all counters nationwide, and trip information or reservations can be accessed through the company’s website, mobile app, Facebook page, LINE account, or call center. (NNT)
