Southern Kaokonlakao run finishes with 26m in donations

PHUKET – The Kaokonlakao fundraising run for hospitals in the southern region led by artist Toon Bodyslam was completed yesterday by some 10,000 runners despite some rain in Phuket. The event has raised 26 million baht in donations for hospitals in need.

Toon Bodyslam, or Artiwara Kongmalai, the face of the Kaokonlakao Foundation, yesterday completed his “Kao tor pai duai palang lek lek” fundraising run in the southern region, after leading celebrities and 13,123 runners to finish the final 10.6-kilometer sector at Laguna Phuket.

This fundraising run event started in the morning of 24th October, covering 300 kilometers across multiple provinces of the southern region, before finishing in Phuket. The final donation level after reaching the finish line was 26,599,494 baht, with the final amount to be concluded on 30th November. This huge donated sum will be shared by seven hospitals in the southern region.

The Kaokonlakao Foundation will be holding other fundraising runs in the northern, western, and central regions, where the general public will be invited to donate to various noble causes. More information regarding future events will be posted on www.facebook.com/kaokonlakao official page.
