Royal Thai Navy declares Trat waters safe as fishing resumes after border tensions ease

Fishing activities in Trat and Thailand’s territorial waters have returned to normal, the Royal Thai Navy confirms, with continuous 24-hour monitoring in place.

BANGKOK, Thailand – The Royal Thai Navy reports that maritime conditions in Trat Province and Thailand’s territorial waters have stabilized following improved relations with Cambodia.

Navy spokesperson Rear Admiral Paraj Ratanajaipan stated that, with improved security conditions, maritime activities off Trat are now proceeding normally. Concerned for the livelihoods and well-being of the public, the Navy affirmed that Thai fishing vessels and all fishing boats may resume fishing operations as usual in Trat waters and throughout Thailand’s maritime territory, effective immediately.



The Royal Thai Navy will continue its missions to safeguard national sovereignty, protect public lives and property, and oversee lawful fishing activities. These duties will be carried out 24 hours a day to ensure fishermen and all maritime stakeholders can pursue their livelihoods safely and securely.
