
UBON RATCHATHANI, Thailand – His Majesty the King has graciously granted a royal cremation for Mrs. Hung Chorasa, a civilian killed in recent clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border.
The ceremony was held 10 August 2025 at 15.00 hr at Wat Kut Chiang Mun, Dom Pradit Subdistrict, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, in an atmosphere filled with sadness.
Ms. Theerarat Samrejvanich, Deputy Minister of Interior, presided over the ceremony. Also participating in the ceremony were Deputy Governor of Ubon Ratchathani Phob Phusompong, local officials, and residents of Nam Yuen District. The family of the civilian victim expressed profound gratitude for His Majesty the King’s compassion and care.
Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai previously stated that the Government expressed its deepest condolences to all bereaved families and to all affected citizens living along the border. Though the loss suffered is immeasurable, the Government will provide support, rallied from all sectors, to compensate for the losses in lives, property, and income of those affected.
Cabinet members have also visited frontline officers and civilians affected by the Thai-Cambodian border situation to provide them with moral support. (PRD)
