Roads closed as massive sinkhole opens in front of Vajira Hospital, Sam Sen

A 30×30 meter, 50-meter-deep sinkhole has forced authorities to close roads between Vajira Hospital and Sanghi Intersections. Emergency crews are working on-site, and the public is advised to avoid the area until further notice.

BANGKOK, Thailand – A massive sinkhole has opened up this morning in front of Vajira Hospital in Sam Sen area, measuring about 30 by 30 meters across and roughly 50 meters deep.

Authorities have shut down all roads between Vajira Hospital Intersection and Sanghi Intersection, along with the surrounding streets.


No injuries reported, but utilities in the area have been disrupted. Emergency crews are on-site working to stabilize the situation.

Avoid the area until further notice.  (PRD)
