BANGKOK, Thailand – Residents and visitors in Pattaya and Bangkok should keep umbrellas close at hand this week as monsoon conditions are expected to bring frequent showers, thunderstorms, and occasional heavy rain across both cities. Forecasters say the first week of July will remain warm and humid, with daytime temperatures reaching around 29–31°C in Pattaya and 31–33°C in Bangkok. While sunshine will still break through at times, scattered thunderstorms are expected on most days, particularly during the afternoon and evening.
Pattaya is likely to experience periods of moderate to heavy rain through much of the week, although prolonged all-day downpours are not expected. Beachgoers and those planning outdoor activities are advised to monitor local weather updates, as brief but intense storms may develop quickly.
In Bangkok, commuters should be prepared for slow traffic and localized flooding on low-lying roads during heavier showers. The capital typically sees rain on many July afternoons, with humid conditions persisting between storms.
Despite the unsettled weather, tourism activities are expected to continue as normal. Tropical showers during Thailand’s rainy season are often short-lived, with dry intervals returning after storms pass. Visitors are advised to carry light rain gear, allow extra travel time during peak traffic hours, and exercise caution on wet roads.
