PTT pays 82.22 billion baht to Govt last year

Bangkok – PTT Public Company Limited has announced that it paid 82.22 billion baht in taxes to the Thai government last year.

Chansin Treenuchagron , President and Chief Executive Officer of PTT, reported that in 2018, there was a recession in the global economy of 3.7%, especially in the Eurozone and China. There was also the USA-China trade dispute, as well as a significant decrease in the oil price in the fourth quarter of last year. Therefore, downstream business performance decreased in both the petrochemical and refining business and the oil business generally.

With that said, PTT alone gained 1.4 trillion baht from its sales and 59.160 billion baht in profits in 2018. With its affiliates, the state-owned enterprise last year earned 2.3 trillion baht, with net profit of 119.684 billion baht.

Chief Executive Officer Chansin added that PTT is committed to supporting the country’s development policy of “Thailand 4.0” as the country continues to increase its efficiency in all respects, especially investments in key projects in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
