Prince of Songkla University is expanding international programs, exchanges and overseas opportunities to prepare students for careers in a globalized world.

SONGKLA, Thailand – Prince of Songkla University (PSU) is advancing international education to prepare students for careers and opportunities in an increasingly connected world. Associate Professor Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs, stated that internationalization at PSU extends beyond offering programs in English. It involves building global networks and connecting education, research, and academic collaboration with universities worldwide.

PSU is advancing multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary learning while encouraging students to become global citizens. International activities, overseas internships, cooperative education, and opportunities to study alongside international students allow them to gain broader perspectives and return as change agents within the university community. Associate Professor Dr. Sirilak Bangchokdee, Assistant President for Academic Affairs, said PSU develops its programs through Outcome-Based Education and Active Learning. These approaches strengthen practical competencies, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.

Students can also pursue double-degree pathways, including 3+1 and 2+2 programs, participate in semester-long exchanges with credit-transfer opportunities, and receive support for international internships. PSU Phuket Campus offers a particularly distinctive global learning environment. Approximately 62% of its programs are international, while international students represent around 15% of the student body and come from 34 countries. More than 80% of its postgraduate students are international students.

Associate Professor Dr. Pun Thongchumnum, Vice President for Phuket Campus, said the island serves as a real-world classroom where students engage directly with tourism, hospitality, aviation, food, events, environmental studies, international business, and digital technology. By connecting academic learning with global industries and real-world challenges, PSU aims to develop graduates who are ready to study, work, and succeed across borders. (NNT)
