CHIANG MAI, Thailand – Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya has made a private visit to the Angkhang Royal Agricultural Station in Fang district, Chiang Mai province, where she observed agricultural research and plant cultivation carried out under the Royal Project Foundation. The visit, taking place on March 7 and 8, included a review of plant species that Her Royal Highness has graciously granted to the foundation for research, testing, and propagation to support agricultural development in highland communities.
The Royal Project Foundation has developed various agricultural products from these plant species, including caviar lime varieties and Royal Plant No. 918, along with crops cultivated according to Her Royal Highness’s guidance. These crops include matcha tea, broad beans, runner beans, wasabi, vanilla, lavender, linen, roses, artichokes, rhubarb, fragrant pine, lemongrass, butternut squash, peas, and rose tea.
The plant varieties have been cultivated and maintained in the Sirivannavari Botanical Garden greenhouse at the Angkhang Royal Agricultural Station for more than four years, supporting ongoing agricultural research and development by the Royal Project Foundation. (NNT)
