BANGKOK  – The Government Public Relations Department (PRD) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Xinhua News Agency to cooperate in the fields of media and information.

The PRD Director-General, Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd, and the Chinese Ambassador to Thailand, Lyu Jian, signed the MOU on media cooperation on November 5. The memorandum is one of the three MOUs signed by officials from the two countries, intended to strengthen their strategic partnership. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, and the Chinese Premier, Li Keqiang.

The MOU on media cooperation focuses on the exchange of information, news content, images and footage that are beneficial to Thailand and China. The memorandum is also for support and collaboration between the PRD and Xinhua. This is an important opportunity for the PRD to present its news and information to a wider audience, while Thai people will also be more informed on foreign issues.
