200 policemen searched six entertainment places believed to be operated by foreigners to tackle drug abuse and found traces of possible narcotic use in the urine of two revelers.

Two deputy national police chiefs led about 200 subordinates to search six entertainment places believed to be operated by foreigners to tackle drug abuse and found traces of possible narcotic use in the urine of two revelers.

Pol Gen Torsak Sukwimol and Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn led about 200 policemen to search pubs, bars and service parlors believed to belong to foreigners and nominees in Huay Khwang and Ekamai areas at 12.30am. The searches took about one hour.

Pol Gen Torsak said there was not any illegal stuff but two revelers had traces of possible drug abuse in their urine. He said that the raids sent the signal that local police would have to strictly enforce laws at entertainment places or they would be held responsible.

Pol Gen Surachate said about 300 urine drug testing kits were used at each searched entertainment place and the positive test results with only two revelers showed a positive situation.

He said that any owners of entertainment venues who violated laws would be prosecuted. (TNA)
