Yala, 11 August 2019 – After the latest update from national police claiming connections between recent bombing incidents in Bangkok and incidents in southern border provinces, the national police chief visited Yala province to further question suspects and the accused, stressing fairness to all sides based on evidence.

The Royal Thai Police Commissioner General Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner General Pol Lt Gen Suwat Chaengyodsuk, visited the Royal Thai Police Forward Command Operation Center in Yala province to continue the interrogation of detained suspects.

The police chief spent an hour with related investigators discussing investigation progress, before questioning suspect Mr. Wildun Maha, who was captured in Chumphon, to find a connection between the two bombing locations in Bangkok.

The police chief said they are working carefully and with fairness to all sides, and will pursue all those involved based on available evidence.

Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan asked the general public to give police some time to investigate. He said it is still unknown if the incident is politically motivated, but no possibilities have been ruled out yet.
