BANGKOK, MARCH  20 2011 (NNT)– The National Police Chief is prepared to propose an extension of the Internal Security Act for another 30 days, while insisting to negotiate for space for the Red Cross Fair.

Police General Wichien Pojphosri said, the next week’s proposal of the Royal Thai police about extension of the Internal Security Act would be effective from 26 March onwards, since the stability could be affected due to present situations.

Furthermore, he insists that the authorities will not give up on reclaiming the surrounding area of the Government House and legislation will be imposed with consideration on democratic principles and justice. They would try to negotiate with street protestors in order to be able to hold the Red Cross Fair at the soonest. But if the situation goes awry, the public might be affected. However, the number of security officials will be increased.
