BANGKOK, Thailand – Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has announced that diplomatic efforts to ease tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border have made progress, following high-level talks between the two governments and coordination with national security agencies and foreign affairs officials.



Paetongtarn confirmed that discussions with the Cambodian side have led to a mutual decision to adjust military deployments at key points along the border. This step is intended to ease pressure and create a more stable environment on the ground. Both sides have agreed to continue working through the Joint Boundary Commission, which is scheduled to convene on June 14.

Ongoing discussions at various levels are also being arranged to help return bilateral relations to a more stable and cooperative footing. Thai authorities stressed that dialogue remains the preferred path forward in managing the situation.
